Toward a Liberated Black Behavior Analysis

COMING IN 2026:

This inaugural issue marks the groundbreaking, history-making inception of the Journal of Black Behavior Analysis. Toward a Liberated Black Behavior Analysis establishes the intellectual, cultural, and ethical foundations for a science rooted in the lived realities, histories, and futures of Black communities across the diaspora.

The articles in this issue will interrogate dominant assumptions within behavior analysis, situate behavior within broader systems of power and context, and offer pathways toward research and practice that are culturally grounded, community accountable, and liberation-oriented. These contributions will signal a shift toward a behavioral science that does not merely include Black experiences, but is shaped by them.

This issue serves as both an entry point and a declaration: a commitment to rigorous scholarship, critical reflection, and transformative praxis in service of Black life, dignity, and possibility.
